Zunil faja (sash).

This circa-1980 or earlier faja was hand woven on a table loom in cotton and wool with some metallic threads. The warp core of this faja is hand spun, undyed dark brown wool. This faja is uncommon as contemporary versions typically have a cotton core. It was acquired from Lucia Tax Gomez of Santa Catarina Palopó at the “bomberos” textile market in Panajachel.
