Zunil daily huipil. W89 x L173 cm opened. This circa-1980 daily huipil was hand woven on a back strap loom in two white cotton panels featuring multi-clored warp stripes. The panels are joined by a multi-colored, hand embroidered decorative seam. This huipil is faithfully done in a traditional style. The collar is trimmed with a hand embroidered chain stitch. Zunil huipils are now rare in cotton and without a heavy yoke of machine embroidery. This classic example is in very good condition. It was acquired from the Nim Po’t Collection in Antigua Guatemala. (9-151) $ 75. Sold.
