Zunil corte (wrap skirt).
This circa-1980 corte was hand woven on a foot treadle loom in two indigo-dyed cotton panels. These panels have weft stripes featuring complex ikat
dye patterns. Ikat is a dyeing technique used to pattern textiles that employs a resist dying process of threads before they are woven.
This fine example is in excellent condition. It was acquired from Sra. Aguamarina Mateo of Panajachel.
The top photograph shows only half of the available material. Often, we sell cortes for yardage. Weft 111 x Warp 238 cm. (21-92) $ 100 or best offer.
