Zunil daily huipil.

This circa-1980 daily huipil was hand woven on a back strap loom in two white cotton blend base panels featuring multi-colored warp stripes. These panels are joined by a multi-colored, hand embroidered decorative seams. This huipil is faithfully done in a traditional style. The collar is trimmed with a hand embroidered buttonhole stitch. Zunil huipils are now rare without a heavy yoke of machine embroidery. This classic example is in very good condition. It was acquired from Julio Cesar Ajanel at his space in Tinamit Maya on Calle Santander in Panajachel. W80 x L86 cm. (12-186) $ 65.
