This circa-1980 daily huipil was hand woven on a back strap loom in two white cotton blend base panels featuring multi-colored warp stripes. These panels are joined by a multi-colored, hand embroidered decorative seams. This huipil is faithfully done in a traditional style. The collar is trimmed with a hand embroidered buttonhole stitch. Zunil huipils are now rare without a heavy yoke of machine embroidery. This classic example is in very good condition.
