Totonicapan faja (sash).

This circa-1980 faja was hand woven on a table loom in cotton. The style of these fajas have not changed significantly in over 100 years, so it is difficult to tell its age from its style. It features a great variety of design motifs – geometric, birds, hands, and many others. It is in very good condition. It was acquired from Bonifacia Mendez Bocó at her tienda in the Mercado des Artesanos in Antigua Guatemala. W 5.9 x L 208 cm plus ties. (8-291) $ 35. OBO
