Totonicapán corte (wrap skirt).
(W426 x L114 cm opened) This circa-1980 corte was hand woven on a foot treadle loom in two cotton panels. The main panel is
88 cm weft and the add-on panel is 26 cm. These add-on panels are common in women’s skirts because the maximum width of a
foot treadle panel (weft) does make a skirt that is considered long enough. The blue stripes are indigo dyed. It features
very extensive and intricate ikat dye pattern decoration. It is in very good condition. Acquired from Juana Escalon of
Patzun. (8-200) $ 70. SOLD.
