Totonicapan rebozo - shawl.

This circa-1970's rebozo was hand woven on a back strap loom one panel of silk and cotton. The cotton warp stripes are decorated with complex ikat patterns in indigo natural dye. The fringe is hand knotted. These partial silk Totonicapan rebozos are no longer produced and are increasingly rare. This fine example is in excellent condition. It was acquired from Petronila Mendez Boco of Santa Maria de Jesus. W78 x L192 cm plus 17 cm fringe on each end. (8-18) Was $ 280. Now $ 220 OBO.
