Totonicapan daily huipil.

Hand woven on a back strap loom in two well-balanced cotton base panels. These panels are decorated with horizontal bands of supplementary brocade featuring plumed serpent and other geometric motifs in rayon, which mimics silk and gives the garment a loose drape. Machine embroidered collar added. Totonicapan huipils are increasingly rare. This fine example is in excellent condition. Acquired from Sra. Carmen Tepeu at her “tienda” on 4e Calle Oriente in Antigua. W 86 x L 75 cm. (23-15) $ 120 or best offer.
