Totonicapan vintage ceremonial faja (sash).
Hand woven on a table loom in cotton. The style of these
fajas have not changed significantly in over 100 years, so it is difficult to tell its age by the style.
It features a great variety of design motifs – geometric, birds, hands, and many others. Remnant silk
weft stripes. Circa 1950 or earlier. It is in fair condition.
From the collection of Joan Jacobson of Tucson. W 7 x L 214 cm plus ties. 21-273. $ 50 or best offer.
