Totonicapán rebozo (shawl).

This pre-2000 rebozo was hand woven on a back strap loom in one weft striped cotton panel. These stripes include those with ikat, a dyeing technique used to pattern textiles that employs a resist dying process similar to tie-dye. The brown stripes are “ixcaco” - hand spun, undyed, naturally brown cotton. This rebozo is in very good condition. It was acquired from Sra. Carmen Tepeu of San Pedro Sacatepequez (G) in Antigua. W 53 x L 161 cm plus indigo dyed fringes. (20-35) $ 85 or best offer.
