Totonicapan silk rebozo.

From the Dr. Richard P. Mandell collection.

This circa-1975 rebozo was hand woven on a back strap loom in one panel of silk and cotton. The cotton warp stripes are decorated with sharp ikat dye patterns in indigo. The pale green and deep purple warp threads are silk. The fringe is finely hand knotted. Totonicapan rebozos with silk are no longer produced and are increasingly rare. This unique example is in excellent condition. W 76 x L 188 cm plus long fringes on each end. (16-232) $ 400. OBO
