Totonicapan faja (sash).

This circa-1980 faja was hand woven on a table loom in cotton. The style of these fajas has not changed significantly in over 100 years, so it is difficult to tell its age. It features a great variety of design motifs in supplementary brocade – geometric, birds, hands and many others. It is in very good condition. It was acquired from Sr. Pedro Xiloj, the belt specialist at the Chichicastenango market. W 5 x L 200 cm plus ties. (16-122) $ 55. OBO
