Totonicapán corte (wrap skirt).

This post-1980 corte was hand woven on a foot treadle loom in one cotton panel. This corte features ikat dye patterns in the weft stripes in indigo. Ikat is a dyeing technique used to pattern textiles that employs a resist dying process similar to tie-dye. The specific provenance given is according to information we received from the vendor in Guatemala. This classic example is in very good condition. It was acquired from Sra.
