Totonicapan huipil.

Possibly a saint’s huipil given its mint condition, older style and very small head opening. This pre-1980 huipil was hand woven on a back-strap loom in two cotton panels, white below and colors above, an unusual combination. These panels are decorated with fine ikat dyed weft-stripes, some in indigo. Totonicapan huipils in this style and using indigo are uncommon. This special example is in excellent condition. It was acquired from Ema and Carmen Tepeú at the La Fuente textile market in Antigua. W 85 x L 94 cm. (15-295) $ 115. OBO
