Totonicapán rebozo (shawl).
Totonicapán rebozo (shawl).
This pre-1980 rebozo was hand woven on a back strap loom in one weft striped cotton panel. These stripes include those with complex ikat, a dyeing technique
used to pattern textiles that employs a resist dying process similar to tie-dye. This rebozo is in very good condition. It was acquired from Petronila
Mendez Bocó of Santa Maria de Jesus at her space in the Mercado des Artesanos in Antigua Guatemala. W50 x L160 cm plus fringes. (12-344) $120.
