Todos Santos Cuchumatan vintage daily huipil.

This circa-1960 daily huipil was hand woven on a back strap loom in three cotton base panels with red and white cotton warp stripes. The white stripes in the base utilize hand spun thread. These panels are heavily decorated with supplementary brocade featuring geometric motifs. The center panel is wider and more extensively decorated than the side panels. Typical of Todos Santos huipils, the head opening is surrounded by appliqué rickrack. This fine example is in very good condition. It was acquired from the Centro de Textiles Tradicionales Nim Po’t in Antigua Guatemala. W88 x L77 cm. (9-322) $ 110. OBO
