Todos Santos Cuchumatan vintage daily huipil.

This circa-1960 huipil was hand woven on a back strap loom in three predominantly red and white warp striped cotton base panels. These panels are heavily decorated with supplementary brocade featuring various geometric motifs. The center panel is wider and more extensively decorated than the side panels. Typical of Todos Santos huipils, the head opening is surrounded by rickrack. This exceptional example is in very good condition. It was acquired from Sra. Tomasa Calbo Mateo at the “bomberos” textile market in Panajachel. W 83 x L 81 cm. (17-15) $ 120. OBO
