Todos Santos Cuchumatan huipil de niña.

This post-1980 little girl’s huipil was hand woven on a back strap loom in 3 red cotton base panels, the outer two being warp striped. The center panel is decorated with supplementary weft brocade. The collar decoration with narrow zigzag appliqué ribbon is typical of Todos Santos huipils. The arm openings are trimmed with velvet. This example is in very good condition. It was acquired from Maria Pol of Chichicastenango at the “bomberos” textile market in Panajachel. W 60 x L 50 cm. (11-149) $ 30. OBO
