This post-1980 huipil was hand woven on a back strap loom in two very well-balanced green cotton base panels. These panels are decorated with horizontal bands of supplementary weft brocade featuring bird, universal diamond and floral motifs. This beautiful example is relatively large and in excellent condition. It was acquired from Maria Isabel Gonzales of Patzicia at the “bomberos” market in Panajachel. W88 x L68 cm. (12-314) $ 125. OBO
