Tactic / Tamahú daily huipil.

This post-1980 huipil was hand woven on a back strap loom in three white cotton base panels. These panels are decorated with dense supplementary brocade primarily in purple cotton. The brocade features horizontal rows of geometric motifs on the side panels and “lighting bolts” or vertical plumed serpent motifs in the wider center panel. The head and arm openings are trimmed with crochet. It is in excellent condition. It was acquired Petronila Mendez Bocó at the Artesanos market in Antigua Guatemala. W 100 x L 94 cm opened. (11-119) $ 75. OBO
