Tactic / Tamahú daily huipil. W89 x L120 cm opened. This post-1980 huipil was hand woven on a back strap loom in
two balanced black cotton base panels. These panels are decorated with supplementary brocade featuring what I call
lightning bolt motifs. The collar and arm holes are decorated with hand embroidered flowers utilizing the “French
knot” technique. The collar is lined and the arm holes trimmed with crochet. This example is in very good
condition. It was acquired from Estefana Culajah of Patzun at the La Fuente market in Antigua.
(10-188) $ 80. SOLD.
