Sumpango daily huipil. W78 x L126 cm opened. This circa-1980 daily huipil was hand woven on a back strap loom in two cotton panels. The panels are joined in the center by hand embroidered decorative seams that extend to a chain stitch around the neck opening. The main feature is rows of hand embroidered floral and sunburst designs circling the neck opening. It also has hand crochet decoration around the arm holes. Sumpango huipils are increasingly rare. It is in very good condition and was acquired from Ana Carolina Ajanel of Chichicastenango. (6-389) $ 110 *SOLD*
