Sumpango huipil.

This circa-1980 huipil was hand woven on a back-strap loom in two warp-striped cotton panels that are joined by hand embroidered decorative seams. The head and arm openings are trimmed with a hand embroidered buttonhole stitch. The principal feature is the rows of hand embroidered floral patterns circling the head opening. Sumpango huipils are increasingly uncommon. This classic example is excellent condition. It was acquired from an important private collection in Antigua Guatemala. W 76 x L 58 cm. (19-75) $ 175. OBO
