Sumpango daily huipil.

This post-2000 huipil was hand woven on a back strap loom in two warp-striped cotton panels. The panels are joined in the center by hand embroidered decorative seams that extend to a chain stitch trim around the collar. The collar is encircled by rows of hand embroidered floral designs. Sumpango huipils are increasingly rare. The example is in excellent condition and was acquired from the Centro des Textiles Tradicionales Nim Po’t in Antigua. W 81 x L 58 cm. (18-12) $125. OBO
