Soloma huipil.

[Venacular note. We have been instructed that the women of Soloma call their upper body garment a “huipil”, not a “blusa”.] This huipil features floral decorated satin and laces with appliqué and embroidered rings encircling the head opening. Soloma huipils are rare. This lovely example is in excellent condition. It was acquired from Sra. Ana Carolina Ajanel at her “tienda” in Chichicastenango.
