Solola men’s ceremonial (cofradía society) jacket.
55 cm across the shoulders. 50 cm length. 54 cm arm length. This circa 1980 men’s ceremonial jacket was hand woven on a back strap loom in 2 colors of hand spun, undyed wool. It is extensively decorated with applique. The back features the bat design as its central motif. These jackets are worn ceremonially by male members of the Sololá cofradía societies. Authentic examples such as this one are rare. It is in very good condition. It was collected from Paulina Ramos of Sololá. (7-216) $ 150 *SOLD*
