Sololá vintage cargador (carrying cloth).

This circa-1960 cargador was hand woven on a back strap loom in two warp striped cotton base panels. It features ikat, a dyeing technique used to pattern textiles that employs a resist dying process similar to tie-dye, and ixcaco, hand-spun naturally brown cotton. It is in good condition. It was collected from Paulina Ramos of Sololá at her space in front of the Casa de Huespedes San Francisco on Calle Santander in Panajachel. W112 X L122 cm. (6-475) $ 55. OBO
