Solola daily huipil. W59 (across shoulders) x L176 cm (if opened). This circa-1980 daily huipil was hand woven on a back strap loom in two cotton panels. Solola daily huipils are unique in that they have sleeves and are gathered at the neck to form a collar. This huipil features extensive ikat dye patterns and ixcaco (hand spun naturally brown cotton) warp stripes. It also features supplementary brocade in the universal diamond motif across the shoulders. It is in excellent condition. It was acquired from Paulina Ramos of Sololá. (6-383) $ 100. SOLD.
