Solola vintage ceremonial huipil.

This pre-1980 ceremonial huipil was hand woven on a back strap loom in three warp-striped cotton panels. It features simple geometric designs in supplementary brocade, all in silk, and simple ikat in the warp stripes. The panels are joined by hand-embroidered and decorative seams also in silk. The traditional collar design includes a satin rosette centered sun symbol that is hand embroidered in silk. Authentic (used) Solola ceremonial huipils are rare.
