This fancy post-1980 men’s daily shirt was tailored from material produced on a back strap loom. It features extensive ikat dye patterns and appliqué ribbon decoration featuring an eagle motif. Zippered front and pockets. Ikat is a process where groups of threads are tie-dyed before they are woven in such a way as to create specific patterns. This outstanding example is in excellent condition. It was acquired from Sra. Paulina Ramos of Sololá at her stall on Calle Santander in Panajachel.
