Sololá daily hupil.

This post-1980 huipil was hand woven on a back strap loom in two warp-striped cotton panels that feature ikat dye patterns. The surface decoration is supplementary brocade featuring geometric motifs. This huipil has the traditional gathered collar typical of older huipils. Sololá huipils are the more common of the two huipils in Guatemala that have sleeves. This fine example is in excellent condition. It was acquired from Sra. Paulina Ramos of Sololá at her tienda on Calle Santander in Panajachel. W at shoulders 56, sleeves 37, length 102 cm.
