Sololá camisa (men’s shirt).
This post-1980 men’s daily shirt was tailored from material produced on a back strap loom. It features extensive ikat dye patterns and designs in white and gold
appliqué and stitching. Ikat is a process where groups of threads are to tie-dyed before they are woven in order to create specific patterns. It has zippered
pockets and snap front closures. This typical example is in very good condition. It was acquired from Paulina Ramos of Sololá at her tienda in front of the
Hospedaje San Francisco on Calle Santander in Panajachel. Width at shoulders 42.5, length 62, sleeves 50 cm. (11-252) $ 95. OBO
