Sololá faja. W 17.5 x L 328 cm plus fringes. This post-1980 faja was hand woven on a back strap loom in one cotton panel of multi-colored warp
stripes. Many of these stripes feature ikat dye patterns. It is further decorated by large areas of supplemental brocade on each end, with
different patterns on each end so that it can appear as two different belts depending on how it’s worn. This outstanding example is in very good
condition. It was acquired from Paulina Ramos of Sololá at the Hospedaje San Francisco on Calle Santander in Panajachel. (11-224) $ 90. Sold.
