Sololá daily huipil. W 53 cm (across the shoulders) x L 87 cm (shoulder to hem) + 25 cm sleeves. This post-1980 huipil was hand woven on a back strap loom in two multicolor warp striped cotton blend base panels. Sololá daily huipils are unique in that they have sleeves, are gathered at the neck to form a unique collar and feature extensive ikat dye patterns in the warp stripes. This fine example also has supplementary brocade decoration in unusual duality motifs across all the upper portions and complex geometric motifs across the shoulders. It is in excellent condition.
