Sololá daily huipil. W70 cm across the shoulders x L86 cm + 25 cm sleeves. This post-1980 daily huipil was hand woven on a back strap loom in two cotton base panels. Sololá daily huipils are unique in that they have sleeves, are gathered at the neck to form a distinctive collar and feature extensive and complex ikat dye patterns in the warp stripes. This fine example also has supplementary brocade decoration in plant motifs across all the upper portions. It is in excellent condition. It was acquired from Paulina Ramos of Sololá. (10-185) $ 115.
