Santo Domingo Xenacoj daily huipil.
W94 x L136 cm opened. This traditional post-1980 daily huipil was hand woven on a back strap loom in two red striped
cotton-rayon blend panels joined by hand embroidered decorative seams. The base material is called "aleman" and is prized
for its loose drape and softness. The decoration features the "chompepe muerte" (brocken necked turkey) motifs on the chest
and corn plant symbols across the shoulders. It is in very good condition. It was acquired from Juana Escalon of Patzun.
