Santo Domingo Xenacoj cofradia huipil H: 23”, W: 38”. Code: J4. This rare huipil was hand woven on a backstrap loom in three cotton panels
joined by hand embroidered seams. The surface decoration is supplementary brocade featuring zoomorphic motifs. Some of the brocade is in silk.
The collar is trimmed in velvet. This style is associated with cofradia society ceremonies. Circa 1980. This fine huipil is part of the collection
of the Centro de Textiles Tradicionales Nim Po’t in Antigua Guatemala. $590. (15-11)
