Santo Domingo Xenacoj daily huipil.

This post-1980 huipil was hand woven on a back strap loom in two warp-striped cotton blend panels joined by “randas”, hand embroidered decorative seams. The surface decoration is supplementary brocade that features plant and “zoomorphic” motifs. The base is a cotton/rayon blend called “aleman” that is prized for its softness and drape. It is in excellent condition. It was acquired from Juana Mateo Rosales of Panajachel. W89 x L89 cm. (14-54) $ 150. OBO
