Santo Domingo Xenacoj vintage ceremonial tzute.

This pre-1970 tzute was used in many cofradia society ceremonies. It was hand woven on a back strap loom in one green warp striped cotton base panel. That panel is decorated with supplementary brocade featuring “zoomorphic” motifs with plumed serpent motifs at top and bottom. Some of the brocade is in silk. There is one repair that includes more silk brocade. This tzute is in good condition. It was acquired from Ema and Carmen Tepeú of San Pedro Sacatepequez (G) at the La Fuente market in Antigua.
