This post-1980 huipil was hand woven on a back strap loom in two warp-striped cotton panels joined by “randas”, hand embroidered decorative seams. The surface decoration is supplementary brocade that features bird motifs and paired S-forms with plant motifs across the shoulders. It is in excellent condition. It was acquired from Estefana Culajah of Patzún at the La Fuente textile market in Antigua Guatemala. W88 x L66 cm. (12-172) $ 90.
