Santo Domingo Xenacoj daily huipil.

This post-1980 huipil was hand woven on a back strap loom in two predominantly dark red warp striped cotton/rayon blend base panels. These panels are joined by hand embroidered decorative seams. This base material is called "aleman" and is prized for its loose drape and softness. The decoration features bird and plant motifs on the chest and across the shoulders. This fine example is in excellent condition. It was acquired from Juana Mateo Rosales of Panajachel. W80 x L117 cm opened. (10-160) $ 85. OBO
