Santiago Sacatepequez vintage cargador (carrying cloth).

This circa-1970 cargador was hand woven on a back strap loom in two well-matched, warp-striped cotton panels. The panels are joined by a very thin multi-colored hand embroidered decorative seam. Each panel features bird motifs in supplementary brocade. This fine example is in very good condition. It was acquired from an important private collection in Antigua Guatemala. W 117 x L 113 cm.
