Santiago Atitlán rebozo / perraje (shawl).

This post-1980 rebozo was hand woven on a back strap loom in one warp striped cotton panel. It features extensive and complex ikat dye patterns, a dyeing technique used to pattern textiles that employs a resist dying process similar to tie-dye, and hand knotted fringes. It is in very good condition. It was acquired from the late Candelaria Mendoza Ruiz of Santiago Atitlán. W68 x L148 cm plus fringes. (9-211) $ 60. OBO
