Santiago Atitlán daily huipil.

This fine 1980’s style daily huipil was hand woven on a back strap loom in two pale lavender cotton base panels with the surface decoration enclosed in a grid composed of black warp stripes and white raised weft brocade stripes. The surface decoration of birds and flowers is all hand embroidered, featuring fanciful birds and a floral collar decoration. This huipil is in excellent condition. It was acquired from Sra. Ana Carolina Ajanel at her “tienda” in Chichicastenango. W 80 x L 64 cm. (23-21) $ 300 or best offer.
