Santiago Atitlán corte (wrap skirt).

This post-1980 corte was hand woven on a foot treadle loom in two weft striped cotton panels. This corte features the uniquely fine ikat dye patterns for which Santiago Atitlán is famous. Ikat is a dyeing technique used to pattern textiles that employs a resist dying process similar to tie-dye. This exceptional example is in very good condition. It was acquired from Sra. Carmen Tepeú at the La Fuente textile market in Antigua. W 108 x L 380 cm. (16-188) $ 90. OBO
