Santiago Atitlán faja (men’s sash).

This post-1980 faja was hand woven on a back strap loom in one warp striped cotton panel. It features extensive and complex ikat dye patterns, a process where groups of threads are to tie-dyed before they are woven in order to create specific designs. Also hand knotted fringes. This faja is in very good condition. It was acquired from Barbara Mendoza Ruiz of Santiago Atitlán. W19 x L288 cm plus fringes. (14-95) $ 70. OBO
