This circa-1980 huipil was hand woven on a back strap loom in two green cotton base panels. These panels are extensively decorated with supplementary brocade in diamond patterns characteristic of Santa Maria de Jesus daily huipils. The head and arm openings are trimmed in ribbon and appliqué. This example is in very good condition. It was acquired from the Nim Po’t Collection in Antigua Guatemala. W 70 x L 54 cm. (8-139) $ 55.
