Santa Maria de Jesus ceremonial faja.

This circa-1970 faja was hand woven on a back strap loom in one warp striped cotton panel. Blue stripes are indigo dyed. The supplementary brocade features universal diamond motifs typical of Santa Maria de Jesus, some in silk, indicating ceremonial use. This faja is in very good condition. It was acquired from the Centro de Textiles Tradicionales Nim Po’t in Antigua Guatemala. W 20 x L 304 cm. (6-542) $ 90. OBO
