Santa Maria de Jesus ceremonial tzute (utility cloth).

This fine tzute was hand woven on a back strap loom in two well-balanced warp striped cotton panels, predominantly in red. These panels are joined by a hand embroidered decorative seam and decorated with supplementary brocade featuring universal diamond and bird motifs, some of it in silk. This beautiful example is large and in excellent condition. It was acquired from Sra. Berta Hernandez in Santa Maria de Jesus. W 100 x L 116 cm. (21-39) $ 300 or best offer.
