Santa Maria de Jesus festival blusa (blouse).

This circa-1980 blusa features all hand embroidery on an indigo dyed cotton base. The embroidery features the duel facing quetzal birds as a central motif, surrounded by birds and flowers with a sunburst collar design. It has velveteen trim around the head and arm openings. Hand embroidered examples of this blusa are uncommon. This fine example is in very good condition. It was acquired from an important private collection in Guatemala. W 72 x L 68 cm.
